Corporate Clients

Any, or all of these could describe your current situation:

….What and how things were done last year aren’t cutting it anymore.

…Costly mistakes are being made.

…You need to comply with EXCO governance scorecards but it is proving increasingly difficult.

…Your targets aren’t being reached.

…It is expected of you to find better ways to deliver, and in shorter time frames.

… You are working with a scattered vision that is leading to random actions.

…With your team pulling in different directions, your next steps are tentative and without buy-in.

why it is important

Complexity takes on many forms in business, but they all have one thing in common: it robs you of your edge.

Time spent on pulling diverse views together or understanding why processes aren’t delivering the outcomes, all slows down your momentum.

It is important to get out of complexity because it is about staying ahead. And ultimately, it is about staying in business.

Those who find the quickest route through complexity into clarity and no-nonsense performance with accountability are the ones who capture the market.

Our methods are proven to deliver a clear direction in Strategy, bringing you clarity on who does what – and how performance will be managed.

Combine that with Process Improvements, Implementation Projects and Change Management and you can achieve your objective: people and processes performing efficiently to reach enterprise targets.

how we work

What we USE

Visual Strategy

Visual Strategy is a process of interactively gathering business development information from participants and pulling it together to create a storyboard-style visual map of your vision, your goals and what needs to happen to attain them.

How does it work?

The Business Destination Map® is developed through intensive workshopping with you and your team. We ask questions, debate the answers and draw the picture in real time. It takes up to two days to complete. Printed as an A0 laminated map it can be up to 1.5 meters long and is accompanied by a smaller Powerpoint version.

What a Business Destination Map® looks like:

What makes this different?

  • It is effective because visual data is processed 60,000 faster by the brain than text.
  • It is a very efficient way of communicating something as important as your core strategy because visual communication bridges language, cultural and perception gaps.
  • SEEING  your vision, your next steps and your progress is far more effective than reading about it. Science has proven that we remember much more when we see something as opposed to only reading it.
  • The process is simple. There are no lengthy questionnaires to fill in.
  • It is fast. It takes only 2 days of workshopping, which can be done on-site or remotely.
  • It is interactive, which means your whole team gets involved in formulating the strategy. That clears a major hurdle right there: you have instant buy-in.

This is your strategy, coming alive. Tape your Map to the wall and never lose sight of the road ahead. Roll it up and take with you, wherever you need to share your vision and explain your plans.

How can you use the Map?

  • Share your vision with your team.
  • Manage the roll-out of your strategy.
  • Get clear on the processes you need.
  • Understand what resources you require.
  • Clearly explain your plans to obtain investment funding.
  • Show stakeholders your progress against plan.

How To Get Business Perspective

Visual Process Mapping

Telling the story of exactly how something works, with pictures. That is a Visual Process Map. It is a visual storyboard that defines and unpacks the detail of a process.

Describing your process is describing your reality. It allows you to know who needs to do what, when and how.

How does it work?

Using our in-house developed methodology called VizPro®, a Visual Process Map is developed by talking to the people who know  best – the process owners and operators. Through intensive workshopping we ask questions, debate and draw the picture in real time. It can take anything from a few hours to a few days to complete, depending on the complexity of the process. Printed as an A0 laminated map it can be up to 2.5 meters or more long.

What a Visual Process Map looks like:

What makes this different?

SEEING how things get done in your enterprise is more effective than reading about it. People only remember 10% of what they hear and 20% of what they read, but about 80% of what they see and do. A visual, image rich depiction of your process reality creates an instant common understanding that bridges language, cultural and perception gaps. Our Visual Process Maps ensure that everyone is on the same page, literally.

How can you use a Visual Process Map?

  • To train new employees.
  • To create minimum standards.
  • Find gaps in a process.
  • To search for cost saving opportunities by eliminating waste, duplication and inefficiencies.
  • To highlight risks and to see where KPI’s are needed.
  • To eliminate bottlenecks and streamline processes.
  • For business improvement by starting with the current reality, then enhancing it to an improved future version.

A Project Management Tip

Change Management

Change Management focuses on building change leadership skills and personal change resilience to help people move through the stages associated with responses to change.

This is important because unmanaged responses to change, if left unchecked, can seriously impact and even sabotage change initiatives. Change Management anticipates the human response to change with the goal to reduce resistance.

How does it work?

A Change Readiness Assessment provides valuable information on which to base a Change Management Rollout Plan. This plan integrates the management of team dynamics, mobilising leaders, getting stakeholder alignment and managing the human resources impact.

What makes us different?

We are skilled in managing projects and have seen first-hand how neglecting the people part of a project can impact a project negatively. What makes us different is that we have extensive experience to successfully integrate change management into project management to ensure the highest likelihood of success.

How can you use Change Management?

Myers-Briggs personality profiling studies find that 80% of people will find change difficult. That means that 8 out of 10 customers, stakeholders and people in organisations will need some change support to successfully make the changes required. Our methodology oils the wheels that bring about change.

The Protection of Personal Information Act (PoPIA) requires that any organisation that deals with personal information does so in a fair and responsible manner, while providing evidence of having given due consideration to the privacy risks and mitigations as it pertains to each particular organisation.

Organisations failing to protect the personal information of customers, employees and other stakeholders could face civil liability claims, significant reputational damage and criminal sanctions. It is however, not only a legal requirement. It also makes business sense as trust is the foundation for good customer relationships.

How Does It Work?

We place heavy emphasis on what PoPIA compliance means in practice to the people who deal with personal information on a daily basis. We start out with a PoPIA Risk Assessment whereafter end-to-end visual mapping of high risk processes is done, while at the same time educating owners on the definition of Personal Information (PI). The maps include Risk Registers to form the basis on which risk management plans and projects can be identified and implemented to ensure adequate Portfolios of Evidence.

 What Makes This Different?

In partnership with LawTrust digital security solutions, our methods bring the requirements of POPIA into the realm of every day processes and procedures, and recognises the key role that change management plays in the success of a compliance project.

We approach PoPIA compliance from a process point of view, which means we look at exactly where PoPIA is going to impact, how it will do it and what needs to be done about it. For us PoPIA isn’t just a theoretical discussion. Because we’ve been assisting clients with the implementation side of it, we know that it is a hands-on, ‘how is this going to change how I work’ exercise that trains, supports and empowers those who actually have to deal with the practical implications of privacy in an organisation.

How Can You Use It?

  • To train your compliance team in the step-by-step method of PoPIA compliance with templates, guidelines and case studies.
  • To communicate the PoPIA related risks to management.
  • To use as part of your Portfolio of Evidence, as required by PoPIA.
  • As training so that those who have to implement new procedures get a clear picture of why it is necessary and how the changes will impact everything down the line.
  • As a continued Risk Register to ascertain, manage and mitigate PoPIA related risks.
  • As a marketing plan input tool to ensure clients of your best efforts to keep their personal information safe and secure.
  • As a Strategic Plan tool to pinpoint priorities and determine where resources will be needed.
  • As a Project Management tool to get a grip on the scope of your compliance project planning.
  • As a Change Management planning tool to get a sense of the extent of the changes it will require in your organisation, and how to anticipate it.
